Who we are
ActionThisDay.net is a nonpartisan group that sponsors a
conversation series on democratic guardrails and civic resilience. We bring together
participants from Harvard, Yale, other university communities and the broader civic community.
What information we collect
When you submit a form on this website, we may collect:
- Name — first and last, as you provide it
- Email address — used to send you the content or updates you requested
- Phone number — only if you provide it; used only if you opt in to SMS updates
- Organizational affiliation — to understand the community you come from
- How you found us — via UTM parameters in links, to understand what outreach is working
We do not collect payment information. We do not use tracking pixels from third-party
advertising networks.
How we use your information
We use your information only for purposes directly related to why you gave it to us:
- Event RSVPs: To confirm your registration and send you event reminders
- Newsletter signup: To send you the newsletter you subscribed to
- Lead magnets: To deliver the resource you requested; further emails only if you
explicitly opted in - Conversation series updates: To notify you of upcoming conversations relevant to
your interests
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for their
marketing purposes.
Email consent and double opt-in
For marketing emails (newsletters, drip sequences), we use a confirmed opt-in process:
- You submit a form expressing interest
- We send a single confirmation email asking you to verify your address
- Only after you click the confirmation link do we add you to any marketing sequence
You may withdraw consent at any time by clicking "Unsubscribe" in any email, or by
visiting the bottom of any email we have sent you to manage exactly which types of emails
you receive.
Email service provider
We send email through Postmark (Wildbit, LLC). Your email address is transmitted to
Postmark for the purpose of delivering messages. Postmark's privacy policy is available
at postmarkapp.com/privacy-policy.
Data retention
We retain your contact information as long as you are an active subscriber or participant.
If you unsubscribe from all communications, we retain your email address on our
suppression list to ensure we do not contact you again. You may request complete deletion
by emailing us directly.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- Access the information we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate information
- Delete your information (subject to suppression list requirements above)
- Withdraw consent at any time without affecting prior sends

Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our practices change. Significant changes will be noted
at the top of this page with a revised date.
